all the memes about Tumblr banning every word ever are funny as fuck but at the same time as I'm having a sensible chuckle I'm also slowly breaking out in hives over the fact that this is soon going to be the norm for the internet. within the next decade probably every fun thing about it is going to be choked by advertisers demanding family friendly spaces to hurl a billion adverts at us per page, and everything is going to be a money making venture first and foremost. it's going to be like wandering around a super sanitised shopping mall.
I don't know, maybe it's hitting me harder because I still remember when the internet was the wild fucking west, but seeing this space become just another playground for corporations to make another quick buck is fucking depressing.
